Solton Manor

Mentioned in the Doomsday Survey, Solton Manor is an impressive property with a lot of character.

Just 3 miles from the English Channel and Dover Castle, Solton Manor is set in 10 acres with a grand front lawn, gated gravel drive and fountain.  The estate has paddocks, large rambling wildlife lake and summerhouse, ornamental pond, ruins with a gazebo and wooded area.  We have a long un-made-up country style drive to enter the estate.

The Manor House and The Dovecote Cottage

Behind the impressive exterior of red and yellow brick with flint, the core of the Manor House is oak timber framed with beautiful origninal timbers and the first floor which boasts exposed stud walling and Tudor oak plank doors.  A large Tudor fireplace greets you as you enter the Hall along with oak beams, panelled doors and walls and a second large fireplace in the dining room.

A half panelled winding staircase leads you to the 1st and 2nd floors where you can find fireplaces in the rooms including tiny ones in the original servants bedrooms.  There is also a set of small, back stairs and another leading from a mezzanine floor overlooking the beamed games room.

Many of the rooms and corridors have centred arched doorways.

As well as the beautiful wooden floors, a flagstoned corridor runs behind the rooms together with original fire stone boiler.

The Manor House has 10 bedrooms with a mix of high ceilings and beamed walls and ceilings.  There is a large kitchen, snug, 5 bath/shower rooms, games room in a converted barn.

Situated oposite the lake and next to the ornamental pond, our Dovecote Cottage is a converted dovecote with two bedrooms, open plan living and a shower room. The red exterior is perfect for photo shoots.

The estate also has a purpose built wedding venue which is a converted dutch barn from the 1950's.  It can cater for up to 150 people and has a fully licenced bar and working catering kitchens.

Red tiled and red brick stables with a menage and other rustic barns are hidden from view with plenty of space to accommodate large vehicles out of site.

The whole estate is available for photo and film shoots.
