We can provide a list of trusted local food truck suppliers for any evening food or other elements of your day, or you can source your own suppliers if you wish.

At Solton Manor, we believe a food tasting is essential when planning your wedding. We are therefore delighted to say that Invicta Food Design offers a group food-tasting event in the Dutch Barn. Once you book your wedding, you and the couple will be invited to the food tasting.
The food-tasting invitation is for you, the couple; however, you can bring additional guests, but Invicta Food will charge you.
Couples typically arrive at 6:30
On arrival, you will be met with a glass of bubbles and canapes
You will seated on dressed tables and served your food choices
You will be given a form to complete to provide feedback to the caterers, and the chefs will be on hand to speak to you
You will try the house wines, and the bar will be open
The tasting usually finishes at 9:30 pm.

Cutting your wedding cake is free if you book the evening buffet. However, Invicta Food Design does charge if you don’t include a buffet for your evening guests.

To secure your wedding date at Solton Manor, a £1,000 retainer is required. This payment reserves your chosen date exclusively and removes it from our diary. As the date is taken off the market, the retainer is non-refundable. Payment can be made by credit card or BACS transfer.
An interim payment is then scheduled midway between payment of the retainer and your wedding date.
Approximately six weeks before your wedding, we invite you to attend a final planning meeting — in person, by telephone, or via video call — to confirm your key details, including your timeline, supplier arrangements and final guest numbers. Once your guest numbers are confirmed (please remember to include yourselves), the remaining balance is due one month prior to your celebration.
For added flexibility, we also offer a monthly instalment option, allowing you to spread the cost in a structured and manageable way.
We strongly recommend that all couples take out comprehensive wedding insurance to provide additional peace of mind.
Before deciding to cancel your wedding, we encourage you to explore all your options and carefully consider whether the challenges are related to budget or other concerns.
If financial worries are a factor, one option is to reimagine your celebration as a smaller, more intimate wedding at Solton Manor. This can help reduce costs while creating a beautiful and memorable day. Just ask us about our Intimate Wedding Package.
If you want to cancel your wedding, we will be sorry to lose you.
ALL cancellations must be in writing to Solton Manor, Solton Lane, East Langdon, Dover, CT15 5JB or by email to [email protected] and please copy in Kent County Council Wedding Team [email protected] at the same time. The email must include both of your emails.
Please note the following:

Yes, sparklers are permitted at Solton Manor, and they make for some truly magical photos, especially on the bridge or outside the Dutch Barn. However, for everyone’s safety, we ask that the following guidelines are followed:
Public liability: Responsibility for their safe use rests with the couple and/or the supplier (such as your photographer or planner) who is coordinating the sparkler moment.
Safety measures: We’re happy to provide a bucket of sand for safe disposal, please ask for this to be placed close to where sparklers will be lit to avoid any last-minute rush. Once finished, ensure all sparklers are fully extinguished and placed safely into the bucket.
Timing & location: Sparklers should only be used outdoors and ideally after dark for photographs, away from flammable materials and doorways.
Damage & liability: Any damage to the property caused by sparklers must be resolved by the couple, and where necessary, the damage deposit may be used to cover reasonable costs.
Insurance: We strongly recommend taking out wedding insurance for added peace of mind.
Used with care, sparklers create unforgettable moments, and with these simple precautions, you can light up the night safely and beautifully.

Public liability: Responsibility for their safe use rests with the couple and/or the supplier such as your photographer or videographer issuing them.
Safety measures: Like sparklers, we recommend that all smoke bombs are placed into a bucket of sand immediately after use. We are happy to supply the bucket of sand, but please ask for this to be placed near to where the planned smoke bombs are to be ignited so there isn’t a panic when you want to take the shot. If, for example, five smoke bombs are used, please ensure all five are safely extinguished and accounted for.
Damage and liability: Any damage to the property caused by smoke bombs must be resolved by the couple. In such cases, the couples damage deposit may be used to cover reasonable costs.
Insurance: We strongly advise couples to take out wedding insurance to ensure appropriate cover.
Used responsibly, smoke bombs can create incredible images — and with these simple precautions, you can enjoy the moment safely and beautifully.

At Solton Manor, we welcome both last-minute and longer-term wedding bookings.
For couples looking to plan a last-minute wedding celebration, we require a minimum of 32 days’ notice, as this is the time required by Kent County Council to give official notice of your marriage.

Karen and her fantastic team understand what makes a great wedding venue coordinator: effective planning, clear communication, and meticulous attention to detail.
Our wedding coordinators can help with the creative and administrative aspects of planning. They assist with tasks such as managing paperwork, responding to emails, making phone calls, booking and perfecting the ceremony details, like table arrangements and décor.
