Your wedding day is undoubtedly one of the most important and memorable days of your life. As the morning of your wedding approaches, you may be filled with a mix of excitement and nerves. To ensure that your wedding morning is just as magical as the rest of your big day, here are some top tips to help you make the most of those precious moments leading up to your ceremony.

Timing Is Everything

While it’s exciting to have your bridesmaids around on the morning of your wedding, timing is essential. Ensure that your hair and makeup are completed at least an hour before your ceremony. This will give you ample time for pre-ceremony photos with your photographer and some relaxed moments with your bridesmaids. Entering your ceremony with a sense of calm and joy will set the tone for the rest of the day.

A Love Letter Exchange

Amidst the hustle and bustle of getting ready, take a moment to connect with your partner by writing each other heartfelt love letters. Exchange these letters on the morning of the wedding while you both get ready separately. Express your excitement about the day, reminisce about key moments in your relationship, and share what you love about each other. This beautiful gesture will deepen the anticipation and create a cherished memento to look back on in the years to come.

The First Look

Anticipation builds as your loved ones eagerly await your grand entrance. Capture these heartwarming moments by arranging a ‘First Look’ with your bridesmaids, parents, siblings, and grandparents. Whether done individually or collectively, these photos will be filled with genuine emotions and serve as lasting memories of the day you all shared together.

Picture Perfect Preparation

Your wedding morning will likely feel like a whirlwind, so enlist the help of your bridesmaids to ensure you look picture perfect for your special day. Have them assist with removing stickers and tags from your shoes, dress, and accessories. Remind them to take off any hair ties from your wrists to avoid unwanted marks. Lastly, have your bridesmaids help you switch your engagement ring to your other hand, leaving room for your wedding ring during the exchange of rings in the ceremony.

Space to prepare

At Solton Manor, we understand how the morning preparations are a big part of the wedding journey. That’s why we give you exclusive use of our romantic Dovecote Cottage for the whole of your wedding. Brides can begin their wedding preparations at 7am, surrounded by friends and family, and we’ll even arrange to have drinks and food delivered to you too. Then the cottage remains open for the duration of the wedding for make-up retouches or just somewhere you can take a quiet moment of reflection. Many couples also choose to use Dovecote Cottage as their first-night wedding stay. To inquire about the use of Dovecote Cottage as part of your wedding package, please get in touch with our wedding planners who will be happy to make arrangements for you.
