Just got engaged and looking for somewhere to celebrate with your family and friends? Our private country estate near Dover in Kent is the ideal setting to throw a proper party before the wedding planning takes over. 

Your guests can arrive for drinks in the Old Stables or ground (weather permitting), before moving into the Dutch Barn for party food, music (DJ and/or a live band), and dancing. Add an overnight stay in the Manor House and Dovecote Cottage and invite up to 30 of your closest family and friends to continue the celebrations late into the night.

2027 engagement packages start from just £3,995 for 30 people, with some amazing extras available to customise your party.

Party & stay overnight

In addition to the inclusive overnight stay in the Dovecote Cottage, why not add our Manor House accommodation to your booking. This enables you to sleep a further 23 of your closest family and friends on-site – plus your dog can join you overnight if you’d like (subject to the accommodation arrangements for your booking).

The final price all depends on your date, guest numbers, food and drink package, and whether you add accommodation or optional extras. If you have something different in mind for your engagement party, we can also put together a bespoke proposal just for you.

Here’s what your party might look like:

  • 4pm = check in and get ready in the Dovecote Cottage or the Manor House (if you’ve chosen our party & stay option)
  • 6.30pm = guests arrive in the Old Stables for welcome drinks and photographs
  • 7pm = guests move through to the Dutch Barn
  • 7.10pm = you make your entrance
  • 7.15pm = food, drinks, music, and dancing
  • 8.30pm = speeches and the engagement toast
  • 8.45pm = more dancing 
  • 10/11pm = late-night food
  • Midnight = the party finishes
  • 10am the next day = check out for overnight guests

FAQs

Can we stay at Solton Manor after our engagement party?

Yes. The package includes the Dovecote Cottage overnight which has two bedrooms, a double and two singles, this house is included in your package.  If you would like to accommodate more guests the manor house sleeps a furth 23 in real beds but there are also three pull out beds and cotes (parents would just need to bring the babies bedding).

Do we need to be getting married at Solton Manor to host an engagement party there?

No. Lots of our couples get engaged and or host their engagement party at Solton Manor and get married somewhere else.

Can our pet stay overnight?

Yes. Pets can stay in the Dovecote Cottage (included in your package) and the Manor House if adding to your booking. Please ask us about the arrangements for your chosen date and accommodation.

Can we bring our own alcohol?

Our licensed bar and drinks arrangements apply to engagement parties. However, we can offer corkage on some drinks (not including spirits).

Can we bring our own suppliers or live music?

Yes, as long as they meet our insurance, safety, and operational requirements. Take a look at our trusted suppliers for the bands, DJs, and photographers we already work with. Make sure you ask about our music agreement, too.

Do you allow candles?

No. Naked flames aren’t permitted anywhere at Solton Manor, but we can work with you and your band or DJ to arrange lighting that suits the look of your party.

Is Solton Manor close to Dover?

Yes. Solton Manor is located in East Kent, just a short drive away from Dover. It’s also convenient for guests travelling for Deal, Folkestone, Canterbury, and the wider Kent coast.
